“Chances for salvation have appeared.” LЁN bakery, which announced its closure, will continue to operate for now
Thanks to great support from visitors and colleagues in the industry, the founders of the bakery have indeed found new chances to fight for its preservation in the same location.
The day before yesterday, information appeared that the popular bakery "LЁN" (LЁN) was closing in Minsk. The establishment announced its cessation of operations on its Instagram page on June 18. Tomorrow was supposed to be the last working day of the project, but on Friday it became known: for now, the bakery will continue to operate, writes Onliner.by.
The reason for the closure was the termination of the lease agreement for the premises at Rakouskaya Street, 25/1. According to the owners, the production was located in this very building — meaning the entire project is closing, not just the eponymous cafe.
— We fought for five months in court for our right to continue working in this place, because not only our cafe but also our production is located here, and the termination of the contract essentially means the demise of the company. Unfortunately, yesterday we lost the appeal, — representatives of the bakery announced on Thursday. The owners noted that they decided to stop the further fight, as it "no longer aligns with the values and goals for which the project was created."

The last day of "LЁN"'s operation was planned for June 21. After that, the establishment was supposed to close to visitors. But yesterday it became known that Sunday is not "LЁN"'s last working day.
Thanks to great support from visitors and colleagues in the industry, the founders of the bakery have indeed found new chances to fight for its preservation in the same location. This was announced by the project owner Alena Kazlouskaya.
A new post with slightly better news than yesterday has already appeared on the establishment's page.
— Frankly, we don't yet know how events will unfold and how long we will be able to continue working in the current format. But we very much hope that all processes will take place within the framework of the law and that we will be able to inform you about all changes in a timely manner.

The "LЁN" team asks for understanding regarding queues, delays, and disruptions in the assortment: the establishment was already set to close, and too many Minsk residents came to say goodbye.
Alena Kazlouskaya also explained that moving the production and cafe to another location is unlikely due to many reasons. In fact, relocation would mean launching the project from scratch. "It won't be the same 'LЁN' anymore," commented the owner.
