Culturologist and film critic Maksim Zhbankou is releasing 'ShockingCult. Book of Changes' through the 'Myane Nyama' publishing house. The collection includes selected texts from his eponymous YouTube project, writes BAJ.
"ShockingCult" is Maksim Zhbankou's authorial YouTube project, created to analyze sociocultural processes after 2020. The book includes 37 texts about Belarus and everything that has happened to our society. But this is not a chronicle of events or private notes.

"These are mind games — the conceptualization of the (Belarusian) utter chaos live. Attempts to find markers for
broken time, while flying with it from nowhere to nowhere and trying not to lose your mind'," — notes the publishing house.
The author himself defines the collection as "37 Te(x)ts for Survival."
"This is thinking from a period of semi-decay, a traumatic sensation of broken time, a catalog of cultural anomalies, and chronicles of mental shifts. At the same time, a diagnosis, a motivator, and a self-portrait," — says Maksim Zhbankou.
The print run is expected in early July 2026.
