A woman from Minsk returns to her homeland after 23 years in the USA. Because she only wants to give birth to children here — so they are Russian-speaking
Alexandra Skrypko moved from Belarus to the USA when she was only six years old. The girl grew up in America, met her Ukrainian husband there. And now they are building a house in Belarus. Because they decided that it is better to have children here, so they grow up Russian-speaking.

Alexandra shares her adventures on social media. She says that she loves the USA very much — and admits that this country has given her a lot. But she claims that she does not like how America has been changing in recent years — and not for the better.
Dmitry — Alexandra's husband — is Russian-speaking (from Vinnytsia, Ukraine). At some point, they just looked at each other and said: "Why not move to Minsk?". For now, it's not about leaving the USA forever. The family plans to try living in Belarus for a few years — and then they'll see.

And Alexandra names future children as the first reason for this decision.
— We are ready for children. We have been married for four years and are ready. But we are completely unprepared for what young parents in America will have to go through. We both work, there's no help nearby. No grandmothers, no grandfathers. Not even that very "village" that is necessary to raise a child.
The second reason is also related to children. It is essential for Alexandra and her husband that their children know Russian well. At the same time, the Belarusian woman adds:
— I want them to know our culture, to understand where they come from. I went through this myself. My father sent me to Belarus for the summer. He even sent me for a year so I wouldn't lose my Russian language. I am still grateful to him for that today. For our children, we would want the same, and even more.

Alexandra admits that she has an unresolved "gestalt" from childhood. Since her father took her to the USA when she was quite young, she would like to live in Belarus "for real," not just as a guest — for a few weeks or a month. The girl calls Minsk her favorite city.
During her visits to her homeland, Alexandra visits theaters and restaurants, photographs Lukashenka's quotes in a store with his merchandise, and walks in the forest.
Alexandra's husband, when he first came to Minsk with his beloved, immediately fell in love with his wife's homeland. Therefore, he didn't need to be persuaded to move.

Another reason is that the girl believes that medicine in Belarus is better than in America, and therefore she will feel calmer giving birth here.
— I know, everyone will look at me now and say: "Everyone goes to America to give birth, and you're the opposite?!" Yes, I am the opposite. I have always been proud of Belarusian medicine. And I only want to give birth in Belarus.
This January, the couple bought a plot of land in Belarus, and in June, they began building their house.
