Director of the series 'Friends' James Burrows has died — he was 85 years old. His agent, Rick Rosen, announced his death. The cause is not being disclosed.

Burrows was born on December 30, 1940, in Los Angeles. He began directing TV series in the 1970s.
Burrows was called the "Spielberg of sitcoms". During his career, he received 11 Emmy Awards and 47 nominations.
In addition to 'Friends', he worked on the series 'Cheers', 'Will & Grace', '2 Broke Girls', '3rd Rock from the Sun'.
