Mikalai Kartsel hardly had time to celebrate even his 19th birthday. How another young Belarusian without a criminal record ended up in the war on Russia's side is unknown.
Mikalai Kartsel was born in the village of Sunai, Kapyl district, in November 2006. He was the youngest son in a family of a milkmaid and a veterinarian. There is no information about where the boy studied.

He began his independent life in Russia — in 2025 he published his photo from there on social networks.
Then, at the end of the same 2025, he published a photo of himself in a balaclava, helmet, and camouflage tactical vest. And he hasn't logged into VKontakte since.

As Nasha Niva knows, the young man was recruited into the Russian 331st Guards Parachute Regiment from Kostroma.
It is probable that the young man died somewhere near Chasiv Yar. Theoretically, it is possible that he was captured, but he has not yet made contact from there.
Relatives are now unsuccessfully searching for Kartsel.
