As the investigation revealed, the diesel train driver and his assistant, who previously worked at the Mogilev locomotive depot of the Belarusian Railway, regularly drained fuel from February to April 2026. They left it in a predetermined location, from where the stolen fuel was picked up by the father of one of the accused. Their mutual acquaintance helped him transport the fuel.

A total of six thefts were committed. As a result, the men stole 509 liters of diesel fuel with a total value of more than 1200 rubles. All four pleaded guilty and voluntarily compensated for the damage caused.

The Chausy District Court found them guilty. The driver and his assistant were sentenced to two years of imprisonment. In addition, they received fines of 80 and 120 basic units, respectively. They were also prohibited from holding positions related to the storage, issuance, accounting, and disposal of material assets for two years.

The father of one of the employees was sentenced to two years of imprisonment and a fine of 50 basic units, and their acquaintance — also two years of imprisonment and a fine of 40 basic units.

For all four, the execution of the sentence was postponed for one year.
