In Warsaw, Drunk Belarusian Woman Riding an E-scooter with a Four-Year-Old Child Ended Up in Hospital
In Warsaw, a 34-year-old Belarusian woman and her four-year-old child were injured during an e-scooter ride. The woman, who was later found to have alcohol in her system, lost control and fell with the child, writes Most media outlet.
The incident occurred on a street section closed to traffic. The scooter hit an uneven patch on the road, after which the woman lost her balance. Passersby reported the injured parties and called the police and an ambulance.
Medics examined the mother and child and transported them to the hospital for further examinations. A test showed that the woman's breath contained almost 1 per mille of alcohol.
Police also recorded other violations: transporting a passenger on an e-scooter, absence of a mandatory helmet, and creating a dangerous situation. The collected materials have been forwarded for further consideration.
In Poland, e-scooter regulations prohibit carrying passengers, animals, or cargo on them.
Additionally, from March 3, 2026, children under 13 are allowed to use e-scooters only in residential areas and under adult supervision. Riding on roads is prohibited for them.
From June 3, children under 16 must wear helmets when riding bicycles and e-scooters. A fine of 100 zlotys (about $27) is imposed for not wearing one, payable by parents or guardians.
The helmet requirement also extends to children under seven who are transported on a bicycle in a child seat or on an additional seat, with some exceptions.
