23,000 trees and shrubs to be planted in Minsk courtyards by the end of the year
Large-scale greening of residential areas continues in Minsk. Trees and shrubs not only make courtyards more beautiful and cozy but also help purify the air, reduce noise, protect residential buildings from road dust, and provide shade on hot days.
In total, it is planned to plant 7.3 thousand trees and 40.4 thousand shrubs in the capital's courtyards in 2026. A significant portion of the plants were planted during the spring campaign, but work will continue in the autumn.
Another approximately 3 thousand trees and 20 thousand shrubs are planned for planting in the autumn. Specialists select species taking into account urban conditions. Plants should look good, be resistant to wind, frost, and drought, and also create a kind of protective strip between roads and residential buildings.
Among the most suitable species for Minsk courtyards are linden, birch, maple, rowan, lilac, juniper, and fir.
