Minsk Streets Ordered to Be Cleared of Abandoned Vehicles by Month's End
Minsk authorities plan to clear city yards and streets of cars that have been standing without owners for a long time and have effectively turned into abandoned vehicles, during September. The task to complete this work by October 1st was set by Oleg Korzun, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, at a working group meeting dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of the city.

The meeting also discussed the development of parking spaces and related infrastructure. Andrei Zyranau, General Director of the 'Garages, Parking Lots, and Car Parks' association, specifically drew attention to the problem of abandoned cars occupying spaces in yards and on streets. Following this, Oleg Korzun instructed that abandoned vehicles be removed from the city territory within a month.
The problem of abandoned vehicles in Minsk has been addressed for several years now. Back in March 2024, the capital's State Automobile Inspectorate launched a chatbot through which residents can report abandoned cars.
