On August 22, due to squally winds in Nesvizh and Minsk districts, falling trees injured two boys born in 2014 and 2016. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of bad weather: sawing and removing fallen trees, as well as dismantling emergency building structures.
In the Grodno region, MES employees responded 100 times to assist residents of 14 districts and Grodno. In five settlements, the roofs of a private house, agricultural buildings, and an administrative building were damaged. In the Berestovitsa district and Grodno, trees fell on two cars.
In the Brest region, rescuers provided assistance to the population 23 times. They sawed and removed 19 fallen trees, and also responded four times to dismantle emergency roof elements and advertising structures. Incidents were recorded in several districts of the region, as well as in Baranovichi, Gantsevichi, Kobrin, and Brest.
In the Vitebsk region, eight cases of falling trees have been reported.
In the Minsk region, rescuers helped saw and remove fallen trees 16 times in Vileika, Volozhin, Kletsk, Molodechno, Minsk, Myadel, and Stolbtsy districts, as well as in Zhodino. In Kletsk and Stolbtsy districts, trees damaged three cars.
In Minsk, rescuers responded 15 times to saw fallen trees. In addition, they twice removed emergency tin sheets from roofs and helped dismantle a downspout.
