Siarhei Tsikhanouski: After Pachobut's act, there will be even more rejections for Belarusians seeking asylum
Former political prisoner Siarhei Tsikhanouski commented on Andrei Pachobut's return to Belarus today. In his opinion, this act may negatively affect the fate of other Belarusian emigrants.

«How will Andrei Pachobut's act affect Belarusians awaiting political asylum abroad? I must state that it will be extremely negative. Because as early as 2025, courts in Germany and the USA were already denying asylum to Belarusians, citing that political leaders were already being released and the situation in the country had stabilized.
Unfortunately, after Andrei Pachobut's act, there will be even more such rejections,» — believes Tsikhanouski.
Pachobut arrived in Belarus from Poland on September 8. He plans to spend a week here, meet with his family and associates from the Union of Poles, unrecognized by the authorities. After that, he intends to go to the USA and Canada, having already even received an American visa.
