Directive No. 1 on strengthening public safety and discipline updated
Alexander Lukashenka signed a decree on a new version of Directive No. 1, which "clarifies approaches to ensuring public safety, taking into account modern risks and challenges."
The decree regulates
"priority areas of activity for state bodies in the interests of creating additional conditions for improving the culture of public safety, forming the necessary skills for socially responsible behavior of citizens and a favorable social environment, as well as for the harmonious development of the individual."
Among the priority areas are named
"public order protection, information security, combating extremism and illicit drug trafficking, as well as control over external migration processes."
In addition, the directive provides for the protection of the population and territories from emergencies, civil defense, road safety, ecological and sanitary-epidemiological safety, as well as occupational safety.
As before, the government, regional executive committees, and Minsk City Executive Committee will be responsible for organizing and coordinating the implementation of the directive. The Prosecutor's Office will oversee its implementation.
