Details of negotiations with Whitkoff and Kushner in Kyiv revealed
Over the next few weeks, Ukraine, together with France, Germany, and Great Britain, will prepare the conditions under which it is proposed to hold further negotiations with Russia on ending the war and establishing peace. This was reported to "European Truth" by a source in the Élysée Palace.
The reason for the start of this work was the negotiations of American special representatives Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner with Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as their meeting in Kyiv on September 6 with representatives of Ukraine, France, Germany, and Great Britain.
French President Emmanuel Macron's security advisor Emmanuel Bonne, together with colleagues from Germany and Great Britain, received information from the Americans about their conversation with Putin. According to a source from "European Truth", Whitkoff and Kushner made it clear that after the elections to the Russian State Duma, Moscow allegedly might show new readiness for negotiations. However, they did not name specific parameters of a possible agreement.
During the meeting, the European representatives, having coordinated their position with Ukraine, voiced their own demands. Among the main issues are security guarantees for Ukraine, its territory, and the future sanctions regime against Russia.
National security advisors of France, Germany, and Great Britain agreed to maintain constant contact in the coming weeks and, together with the Ukrainian side, develop precise conditions for future negotiations. The goal is to achieve a stable and long-term peace for Ukraine.
After the meeting with Whitkoff and Kushner, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also announced the preparation of upcoming meetings and further contacts. According to him, during the negotiations in Kyiv, several new ideas were proposed regarding the future negotiation process. The parties also agreed to meet again soon in the Ukraine — USA — Europe format.
Earlier, Whitkoff stated that the main task of the American delegation during the trip to Kyiv and Moscow was "to bring the parties closer".
