On September 12, when Minsk celebrates City Day, the capital's State Automobile Inspectorate will operate in an intensified mode. In the city center, traffic restrictions are possible, and near the Palace of Sports and in the Upper City, stopping and parking of cars will be prohibited. This was reported by Sergey Babich, head of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee's Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
From 8:00 to 18:00, depending on the road situation, traffic may be temporarily restricted, with the exception of public transport. This applies to the ascent from Maksim Bahdanovich Street to Pobediteley Avenue and the descent from Pobediteley Avenue to Maksim Bahdanovich Street.
From 18:00 until the end of the festive events, traffic for all types of transport will be restricted:
- on the ascent from Maksim Bahdanovich Street to Pobediteley Avenue;
- on the descent from Pobediteley Avenue to Maksim Bahdanovich Street;
- on Pobediteley Avenue in the section from Internatsionalnaya Street to Melnikaite Street.
In addition, restrictions on stopping and parking of cars will be introduced in the area of the Palace of Sports and in the Upper City.
Another restriction will affect public transport. From 7:00 on September 12, passengers will not be boarded or disembarked at the "Palace of Sports" stop, which is located near the festive venue.
The State Automobile Inspectorate warns that during festive fireworks, certain sections of roads may also be temporarily blocked. Possible restrictions on traffic, stopping, and parking of vehicles near the fireworks launch sites.
On City Day, inspectors will work in an intensified mode and monitor road traffic near the main festive venues.
