Ukraine put "Zhenya from Gomel" on the wanted list. What is known about him?
Ukraine has put 43-year-old Gomel resident Yauhen Malinkovich on the wanted list. He has been charged under several criminal articles, including for violating international rules for trading dual-use goods and assisting an aggressor country as part of a group by prior conspiracy, Radio Svaboda reported . The publication "Flagshtok" collected what is known about this person.
The Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office earlier published a summons for Malinkovich, registered on Irynin Street in Gomel. He was summoned to the investigative department of the regional SBU administration as a suspect.
The investigation of the case was conducted in absentia, and now the materials have been transferred to the court. An attorney was appointed for the Gomel resident. The defense attorney objected to the arrest in absentia, stating that the investigation violated the procedure for notifying Malinkovich of the suspicion. The court did not grant this complaint.
According to the investigation, Malinkovich organized supplies of optical glass from Ukraine, through Poland, to Russia for the Ryazan LLC "KOLT," which fulfills orders for the Russian military industry. The products were transported to Poland by citizens of Ukraine. Investigators recorded several such transports, but their total volume is not disclosed.
Ukrainian participants in the scheme referred to Malinkovich as "Zhenya from Gomel" during the investigation.
The glass in question had markings "MS23", "BK-110", and "TK-114". According to experts, these types of glass are used in Russia for the production of military devices. If the Gomel resident's guilt is proven, he could face up to 12 years in prison.
Malinkovich graduated from Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University. From 2005 to 2020, he worked at the Spartak confectionery factory, where he rose from a merchandiser to a manager.
In 2021 and at least in 2022, Malinkovich worked at Gomel's LLC "Budenergyservis-Plus," which deals with general construction and construction and installation works.
After that, information about him virtually disappears. No fresh mentions of Malinkovich were found online, and only his old social media pages remain. Also, a likely current page with a closed profile, maintained under different data, was found.
It is unknown in which country Yauhen Malinkovich is currently located.
