Belarusians queued at night to buy A1 tech with huge discounts. Now "Kufar" is flooded with it

Social media users joke that anti-greed pills should have been sold with the promotional gadgets. And some are trying to involve the police and tax authorities for investigation.

On the night of September 18-19, the company A1 announced the "Insomnia" promotion: in some of their stores from 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM, it was possible to buy electronics with very significant discounts.

For example, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Fe phone could be bought 1000 rubles cheaper than usual. The Huawei MateBook 2024 laptop became 800 rubles less expensive for a few hours, and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 robot vacuum cleaner was 300 rubles off.

Of course, there were many eager to save money. Photos taken near the store on Independence Avenue show that the queue stretched for dozens of meters. In Mogilev, the situation was the same.

It's not hard to guess that the most popular item was the Samsung smartphone, which had a 50% discount. And it is this gadget that is now flooding "Kufar". People in different cities of Belarus are reselling it for prices ranging from 1390 to 1699 rubles. In the ads that appeared this morning, it is honestly stated: the phone was purchased at A1.

Belarusians react to this in different ways. Some joke that A1 should have sold anti-greed pills along with the promotional gadgets.

Others claim: it was impossible for ordinary people to buy a phone for themselves, because resellers were the first to rush into the stores.

One Belarusian woman shared on Threads that the first 15 people who entered the store spent an hour there. After them, not a single promotional Samsung was left.

"I personally had a spat with the mother of one of these resellers — she was the first to attack people who were quite rightly indignant. She assured me that the phones were bought for the family to use, and boasted that her son had made a payment for 80,000 rubles, meaning that one person took about 80 phones. To use, right. And he wasn't the only one."

The woman asks A1 not to sell more than 3-4 identical models per person next time. Because it's one thing when a person buys a lot of different tech on promotion, and quite another when they purposefully buy something specific in a large batch.

Hanna from Minsk says that a similar situation happened in the store she visited: "The first 10 people were let in, and for about 35 minutes no one came out of the store, after which it was announced that the Samsung Galaxy S25 had run out. Half of the queue left." She asks A1 to repeat the promotion for this smartphone model.

Other offended Belarusians are more radical and ask the tax authorities and police to pay attention to how people are trying to profit from the A1 promotion.
