Yemeni Houthis again attacked Saudi Arabia

Yemeni Houthis attacked Saudi Arabia with drones. After the attack, smoke rose over King Khalid Airport in Riyadh, and the airport's operations were temporarily suspended.

Earlier, a Xinhua agency correspondent reported that several explosions occurred in the northeastern part of Riyadh.

Prior to this, the civil defense service had repeatedly sent danger warnings to residents.

The Houthis currently control the most densely populated areas of Yemen and a significant part of the country's north. In July, they announced a naval blockade of the Saudi fleet, and in September, they seized the entire coast of Yemen along the Red Sea.

Amidst the escalation of hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, the Saudi government appealed to the United States for assistance with weaponry. On September 17, the US State Department approved the sale of 48 F-35 fighter jets to Riyadh.
