What options are generally offered?

"Belarus! Please suggest a song in the Belarusian language for the first dance of the newlyweds, taking censorship into account."

Such a question was asked by a Belarusian woman in a thread. In the comments to her post, a real musical council quickly unfolded: dozens of people began to offer their options — from the classics of "Pesnyary" to modern indie bands.

Judging by the number of likes and repeated mentions, Belarusians had clear favorites.

First place: "Zachoravanaya" by "Pesnyary"

The favorite of the discussion was the song "Zachoravanaya" by the band "Pesnyary" (lyrics by writer Henadz Buraukin). It was proposed by several people, and by the number of likes, it confidently surpassed all competitors.

The song "Zachoravanaya" has been associated with love for several generations. It contains no dramatic confessions, only sincere admiration for the person next to you.

Along with it, several people also mentioned another "Pesnyary" composition — "Stasya."

Second place: "Zorka Venera" and "Bielaja Liebiedź"

Second place was shared by two romantic compositions.

This includes "Zorka Venera" (Venus Star) with lyrics by Maksim Bahdanovich. It was proposed several times, both in classic performances and in more modern interpretations.

The audience also loves the song "Bielaja Liebiedź" (White Swan) by the band "Novaje Nieba." This is more modern lyricism, but with the same mood of tenderness and light melancholy.

Third place: Naviband and "Shali" by Vajtsyushkevich and Sharkunova

Bronze was shared between compositions by Naviband and the song "Shali" (Scales).

In the case of Naviband, the songs "Abdzimi" (Hug Me) and "Prabach" (Forgive Me) were most often mentioned. "Abdzimi" in particular looks like a natural candidate for the first dance: the title itself already sounds like a wedding wish.

Close in popularity was the composition "Shali" performed by Zmitser Vajtsyushkevich and Hanna Sharkunova — a song about the delicate balance between two people. This is a Belarusian-language cover of the song "Shallow," performed by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

However, there is one important nuance in this popular ranking – Belarusian censorship. Naviband, Zmitser Vajtsyushkevich, and Hanna Sharkunova are on the "blacklists" in Belarus, so their songs are performed in public spaces only unofficially.

If not for this circumstance, the top songs might look different.

What else do Belarusians suggest?

In addition to the obvious leaders, the comments gathered a whole collection of Belarusian love songs — very different in mood, each with its own atmosphere.

Fans of modern Belarusian music advise paying attention to Uzari and his song "Mora" (Sea). This is a light composition with an almost cinematic mood.

Several people mentioned Akute. In particular, the song "Zorka" (Star) — one of the most lyrical in the band's repertoire.

Among folk and acoustic suggestions, the indie-folk duo Dobranoc stood out with the song "Kompas" (Compass). It has what many probably seek in marriage — the feeling of a person who helps you not get lost in life.

Another unexpected suggestion is "Nie złujsia" (Don't Be Angry) by KaS. This is a much more modern story: the song is rather about everyday intimacy, jokes, and the ability to be together despite minor quarrels. For an informal wedding, such a composition could be one of the most original choices.

And also noteworthy are the waltzes "Padajuć zory" (Stars Are Falling) and "Tolki z taboj" (Only With You), which were very popular among the people. Here they are performed by Yakov Naumenko and Natalia Romanskaya…

…and Yakov Naumenko and Svetlana Susedchyk:

Some discussion participants even suggested an unconventional path: commissioning a song specifically for their wedding. Musicians even responded in the comments, saying they would be happy to write such a track.

    Хіту "Зачараваная" ня 40 гадоў, а ня меней за 45. Прынамсі, я яго чуў ужо ў 1982 г. у Петразаводзку ў будатрадзе ў выкананні рэстараннага гурта ...
