Russian State Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov said he killed people in the war against Ukraine
«Did you kill people?» — «Yes».

State Duma Deputy from «United Russia» Vitaly Milonov stated that he killed people in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He revealed this in an interview with blogger Amiran Sardarov, writes «Meduza».
Sardarov asked Milonov if it was true that he had an Order of Courage received in the war. The deputy confirmed that he was awarded the order for «combat operations», but did not disclose details, as presidential decrees on awards «are classified». The following dialogue ensued:
Sardarov: Did you kill people?
Milonov: Yes.
Sardarov: In the SMO?
Milonov: Yes. I am a senior gunner. A senior gunner of an MT-12 «Rapira» cannon, which is two to three kilometers from the front line, from the advanced positions. <…> The cannon's task is to destroy enemy manpower and equipment.
Sardarov: Is it not difficult to live with that afterward?
Milonov: No. It's your duty as a soldier. Do you think if I hadn't killed them, they would have come to us and had tea with us? No, of course not.
Vitaly Milonov went to the front as a volunteer in October 2022 and served in an anti-tank artillery battery. In February 2023, he announced that his contract had expired. In the State Duma, Milonov holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Family Protection, Parenthood, Motherhood, and Childhood Issues.
His brother Alexander died in the war in Ukraine last year.
Vitaly Milonov is an odious Russian deputy who became known through his legislative initiatives. At various times, he spoke out against homosexual relations, Europe, fast food, Olga Buzova, and the theory of evolution.
