Baby rescued in Colombia after father protected him with his body
In the Colombian city of Cali, rescuers found a two-month-old child alive under the rubble after a devastating earthquake.

The boy survived thanks to his father, who held him to his chest for hours and protected him with his body from falling concrete structures, writes Bild.
During the search operation, rescuers heard crying from under the debris. Two police officers, along with local residents, began to clear the rubble despite the danger: a strong smell of gas was detected nearby. Under the collapsed slabs, they found a man who was buried under debris, but he continued to hold his son close to him.
«He asked us for only one thing — not to let his child die,» one of the police officers recounted.
The father and two-month-old Solomon survived, but the child's mother and his uncle are still considered missing.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 occurred in Colombia on Monday, August 10. According to official data, at least 240 people died, and about 2600 more were injured. Rescuers continue to search for survivors, although experts warn that after 72 hours, the chances of finding people under the rubble significantly decrease.
