Three Belarusian Youths Went to Moscow for Quick Money. Now They Will Face Trial
Three Belarusians — a 21-year-old girl, her 20-year-old boyfriend, and her 17-year-old younger brother — went to Moscow hoping to quickly earn a lot of money, but as a result became involved in a criminal case, writes «Moskovsky Komsomolets».

The young Belarusians assisted Russian phone scammers and were responsible for the technical side of their activities. They hid so-called SIM-boxes — special devices that allow changing phone numbers and organizing mass calls to potential victims from various countries — in rented apartments.
To avoid falling into the hands of law enforcement, the participants in the scheme constantly changed their place of residence and maintained communication through secure chats. For their work, they received money in cryptocurrency.
The scale of their activity is impressive. In just one week, almost 69 thousand calls passed through nine SIM-boxes. At least three residents of Russia lost all their savings after conversations with the scammers.
However, the activity did not last long; the Belarusians were soon detained. The participants in the scheme fully admitted their guilt. The investigation into the case has already been completed, and the materials are now being transferred to court.
For assisting phone scammers, the Belarusians face up to six years of imprisonment, as well as a significant fine.
