"I would like my life circumstances to unfold in such a way that I could return to Belarus."
Analyst Artyom Shraibman, in the program "Hadzinnichak Tsikae" (The Clock Ticks), discussed how people inside the country view the possible return of those who left after 2020 differently, following changes.
"When talking about people inside Belarus, I see two clear camps. I hear a lot from people that Minsk has become empty and everyone is waiting for at least some return of the people who left — both medics, IT specialists, and people in creative professions. But also, another extreme position is encountered: everything is normal, it's not noticeable, if they left — good riddance."
About himself, Shraibman answers:
"I, as before, would like my life circumstances to unfold in such a way that I could return to Belarus. I cannot talk here only about the development of events in Belarus; it's impossible to think about this question in isolation from my own family situation. If, at the moment of changes in Belarus, my child is, for example, in the sixth grade, it's difficult to imagine [returning]. But if she is already an adult and building her own life, then one can consider it.
We definitely — we discussed this with my wife — would like to come to Belarus for retirement, to a small farm."
Artyom emphasized that closer to the end of his life, he would like to spend most of his time in Belarus. And for now, while working, if changes occur, he would live in two countries.
