Lukashenka offered a farmer from Turov to establish orchards near Minsk
During his speech at the "Call of Polesie" festival in Lyaskavichy, Petrikov district, Alexander Lukashenka said that the day before he had offered farmer Mikhail Shrub from Turov several unique fields near the capital, which are currently being considered for residential development. Lukashenka suggested using these lands to create large Polesie orchards, writes BelTA.

According to Lukashenka, he wants Minsk to be surrounded by orchards and look similar to Chisinau, which he remembered during his visit to Moldova. Lukashenka noted that the farmer was interested in the offer but took time to think. However, he has no doubt that Shrub will agree — the offer is supposedly too attractive.
Lukashenka had expressed the idea of creating a large orchard near Minsk back in May during a meeting with the government. At that time, he proposed establishing an orchard that would allow the capital to be fully supplied with apples.
In this idea, Lukashenka sees not only practical benefits. According to him, a city surrounded by blooming orchards would look very beautiful.
