As reported by Eduard Kubatov, head of the Mountaineering Federation, they most likely belong to two mountaineers from Belarus and one citizen of Lithuania who disappeared during an ascent to the peak, writes News.kg.
— Search operations have been completed. We have now confirmed the presence of three bodies at the bottom of the Kurumdu gorge. With high probability, these bodies belong to two mountaineers from Belarus and Lithuania. But we can only say 'with high probability'," said Kubatov.
According to him, further operations are complicated by weather conditions. Rescuers are awaiting stable weather in the Kurumdu peak area, after which it is planned to identify the deceased and resolve the issue of transporting the bodies to Osh.
"This is also quite a complex undertaking; we are waiting for stable weather and will continue operations. Conditions in the mountains are currently unstable, and the climbing season is over. This is an altitude of about 6.5 thousand meters," noted the head of the Mountaineering Federation.
43-year-old Maksim Polyanski, 60-year-old Mikalai Svirydau from Belarus, and 37-year-old Siarhei Rubtsou from Lithuania disappeared on August 2 during an ascent of Kurumdu. Their search had been ongoing since then.
