Gomel activist Yury Ulasau, Tsikhanouskaya's trusted representative in 2020, released
He was sentenced to six and a half years and fully served the assigned term.

It became known about the release of 59-year-old Yury Ulasau — Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's trusted representative in the 2020 elections.
According to various reports, he was released either on August 7 or August 11.
Ulasau joined Siarhei Tsikhanouski's team in 2019.
He was first detained on May 7, 2020, when a rally was held in Gomel in support of Siarhei Tsikhanouski, who had been arrested the day before. Ulasau was given 15 days of arrest, and then another 30 days.
Upon his release, he joined Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's team. The team campaigned in almost all district centers of the Gomel region.
Yury Ulasau was arrested in Gomel on August 6, 2020, on the eve of the elections.
Criminal cases were initiated against him, as well as against team members from the Gomel region — Tatsiana Kaneuskaya, Dzmitry Ivashkou, and Aliaksandr Shabalin — under Part 2 of Article 293 (participation in mass riots) and Article 292 of the Criminal Code (seizure of buildings). Ulasau was additionally accused of "public insult of a government official" (Part 1 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code).
On May 4, 2021, he was sentenced to six and a half years in a penal colony, which was more than the other defendants in the case.
Ulasau served his sentence in a penal colony in Novopolotsk, but from 2023 to 2025, he was transferred to prison conditions in Zhodzina.
