First Deputy Chief of General Staff dismissed

Major General Andrei Matsiyevich has been relieved of his post as First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus. This was reported by the press service of Alexander Lukashenka.

Andrei Matsiyevich was appointed to the post of First Deputy Chief of the General Staff on July 18, 2023.

He has now been dismissed from military service and transferred to the reserve due to reaching the appropriate age — 55 years. At the same time, he is allowed to retain the right to wear military uniform and insignia.
