This is what children looked like at the assembly in that same Baranavichy school — "North Korean island" PHOTOS

On the eve of September 1st, Baranavichy School No. 1 named after Sergei Gritsevets caused a stir with strict requirements for students' appearance: no bright hairstyles, makeup, manicures, or flashy accessories. How the children looked there today was shown by the local newspaper "Nash Kray".

A few days before the start of the academic year, Secondary School No. 1 named after Sergei Gritsevets published separate appearance rules for boys and girls. Boys were forbidden from having long hair, bright hairstyles, shaved patterns on their heads, and even styling products that make their appearance "too noticeable". Girls were required to tie long hair into a ponytail or braid, refrain from makeup, bright manicures, large earrings, and other flashy accessories.

These requirements caused a wave of indignation. Belarusians compared the school to a "North Korean island" and wrote that children were being forced into templates.

However, in the photos and videos from the assembly, it is visible that the children still looked different. Some looked quite strict, others more festive.

However, the ceremony itself turned out to be heavily saturated with ideology — with a prosecutor, a deputy, a military orchestra, and red-green colors.
