Putin stated he would prefer to negotiate with Witkoff and Kushner instead of the CIA chief
Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a press conference after the SCO summit in Bishkek, commented on the recent visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe and the situation around negotiations regarding ending the war with Ukraine.
"Contacts between representatives of special services are always made. Negotiations on Ukraine are currently frozen. We are for negotiations to be filled with substance. If someone can make a meaningful contribution, we are all for it.
It is comfortable for us to work with people we trust. These are people close to President Trump. The President trusts them. Therefore, Messrs. Kushner and Witkoff — they are always welcome guests for us, we always work with them," Putin stated.
As for today's statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about Ukraine closing Russian airspace and the danger to civilian aviation, Putin said:
"If he said that, then it's about state terrorism. And yet they ask for personal meetings, they ask for the resumption of negotiations. But negotiations are not conducted with terrorists."
