Dmitry Baskov's disqualification period has ended, he plans to return to hockey again

Dmitry Baskov's five-year disqualification, which prohibited him from participating in national and international hockey activities, has ended. As of September 10, the sports official can return to work in hockey without these restrictions, Baskov himself announced in his Telegram channel.

"Today, September 10, the official date has finally arrived when I can officially return to hockey activities in every sense of the words," he wrote.

On September 8, 2021, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided to impose sanctions on Dmitry Baskov. He was accused of abuse of power, pressure on athletes, and involvement in the death of Roman Bandarenka on November 12, 2020, leading to a five-year disqualification.

According to the official IIHF decision, the disqualification began on September 10, 2021, and ended on September 9, 2026.

Now Baskov promises "to work for the benefit of Belarusian hockey with tripled energy."

Until September 2021, Dmitry Baskov served as the Chairman of the Ice Hockey Federation of Belarus. Currently, he is a member of the Council of the Republic.
