In Baranavichy, a murder of a 17-year-old teenager, committed back in 1998, was solved after 27 years. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In 1998, the body of a 17-year-old boy was found on an vacant lot in Baranavichy. It bore signs of violent death. Despite the work carried out at the time, it was not possible to establish who might have been involved in the crime.
Now, during joint operational-investigative measures, criminal investigation officers of the Brest region obtained evidence linking a 57-year-old resident of Baranavichy to the murder.
According to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, a conflict occurred between the man and the teenager on the day of the tragedy. During the quarrel, the man strangled the young man.
The law enforcement officers are now checking whether the suspect might have been involved in other crimes.
