Putin commented on Zelenskyy's statement about closing the sky over Russia for civilian aviation

Vladimir Putin pretended he hadn't even heard about the statement by the President of Ukraine, but immediately threatened a response.

The question was posed to Putin during a press conference after the SCO summit in Bishkek. Putin stated that he had not heard Zelenskyy's words.

"I haven't heard such statements, but if it was said aloud, then it's simply an application for state terrorism. And I draw attention to the fact that they are asking us to resume negotiations, asking for personal meetings. Negotiations are not conducted with terrorists. But that's the first thing. And secondly, in the same part: if, God forbid, such tragedies occur, we will find something to respond with. Let no one doubt," said Putin.

The day before, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine intends to increase the number of its drones in Russia's airspace to such an extent that it will effectively make it unsafe for civilian flights.

According to Zelenskyy, the Russian sky "already is and will be even more" a space for drones and missiles.

Separately, Zelenskyy addressed foreign airlines and insurers. He warned that flights to Russia, especially to Moscow and St. Petersburg, are becoming increasingly risky.

"Russian airspace will de facto be closed," he said, emphasizing that Ukraine does not intend to attack civilian aircraft.

Prior to Putin's speech, Russian authorities had not publicly commented on the warning, and state agencies TASS and RIA Novosti had not reported on it.
