"This chemical attack almost ruined us." In Gomel, mass complaints about stench in the city center
On the evening of September 3, residents of Gomel massively reported a sharp unpleasant smell in various parts of the city on social media, noted "Flagstock". Gomel residents complained about the stench in Valatava, Stary Aerodrom, the central part of the city, and in the area of the railway station.

Most comments were ironic:
"Closer to 17:00 at the Aerodrom, this chemical attack almost ruined our office."
"My husband and I left home at 17:30 and started taking turns lifting our feet and examining the soles of our shoes, thinking we had stepped in something."
The stench was particularly strong in Valatava, users noted. One of them explained this phenomenon as follows:
"They are cleaning ditches behind Kastsiukouka — that's where the smell is coming from. In Kastsiukouka, you can't breathe at all."
Another resident noted that fields outside the city are being fertilized — this situation is observed every year.
Another version was also expressed:
"It doesn't smell like manure, it's the bone factory where animal carcasses are processed. It's located in Balshevik. Imagine how it is for us who live here."
