"Shamelessly spending billions." Lukashenka made new attacks on neighboring countries
Alexander Lukashenka visited the Abuz-Liasnouski training ground near Baranavichy today.
"You know the foreign policy agenda. You see, you observe, aggressive rhetoric directed at Belarus. Intelligence gathering regarding Belarus is conducted quite openly, almost shamelessly: we periodically record various provocations, violations of airspace. But that's not the main thing. The main thing is that our neighbors today are spending billions of dollars on arming their army. Shamelessly. Not only exercises near the border, but also the creation of new units, armies, which are deployed on the border of Belarus. What is this? For us, military people, everything is very clear. Therefore, we need, as I once said openly and honestly, to prepare for war to avoid it. We must always be ready for an adequate reaction if something suddenly happens," Lukashenka stated.
"Some here are trying to accuse us that we are allegedly going to attack someone tomorrow. I repeat once again: we are not going to attack anyone, we are pragmatists," Lukashenka stated.
"We understand that if we attack someone (for example, one of our neighbors), it would be like death. We cannot win a conflict with our 'monsters,' the states located along the perimeter. So why start a war, to be absolutely honest? But we are obliged to defend every centimeter, every millimeter of our land, our population, to ensure security," Lukashenka added.
Countries neighboring Belarus sharply increased defense spending after Russia's attack on Ukraine, which was carried out partly from Belarusian territory and with its logistical support. Russian imperialists and Alexander Lukashenka do not hide their claims to hegemony over the European continent. However, Russia failed to capture and dismember Ukraine; the Ukrainian army managed to repel the invaders from Kyiv, Kharkiv, and liberate a significant part of the territories seized as a result of the treacherous strike in February 2022.
