Mass Russian drone incursions into Gomel region recorded for the first time in a year

Mass incursions of Russian attack drones into the Gomel region have been recorded for the first time in a year within 24 hours. This had not happened for exactly a year — over the past months, only isolated cases were recorded. The last time mass simultaneous incursions occurred was in early September 2025, writes "Flagstock".
And so, on September 12-13, according to "Flagstock"'s calculations and updated data, at least 10 Russian drones violated Belarusian airspace.
During Russia's massive attack on Saturday, around 11:00, the first drone incursions into Belarus began. At this time, one of them was already flying into Ukraine, and an hour later, two drones flew into the Gomel region, heading towards Naroulya and Lelchytsy. Then two more moved in the direction of Mazyr. Around 14:00, a new pair of Russian drones flew into the Gomel region. Half an hour later — another drone.
Around 02:30 on September 13, one drone was recorded departing from Belarus, and around 10:40 — another one.
Most of the drones flew back into Ukraine, but there is no precise information on all drones that entered Belarus yet.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel eRadar, as a rule, these were not reactive, but classic "Geraniums" with an engine whose sound resembles that of a moped.
Most often, drones violated the southern border of the Gomel region and moved in the direction of Mazyr, Naroulya, and Lelchytsy.
According to eRadar, two drones were recorded around 13:45 in the Mazyr district at a distance of 20 kilometers from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border.
In addition, one resident of the Petrykaw district reported hearing the characteristic sound of "Shaheds" in the sky from approximately 10:00 to 12:00, as well as a jet engine. It is possible that fighters were pursuing the drones.
The drone incursions were associated with Russia's massive attack on the western regions of Ukraine amidst foggy weather.
