Mushroom Wave Hits Minsk. Citizens Publish PHOTOS of Porcini and Honey Mushrooms Collected in the Capital
The mushroom wave has reached Minsk: citizens are collecting mushrooms right within the capital. The Minsk-News agency found out in which locations one can find a stump with honey mushrooms and robust young aspen boletes.
Judging by comments in one of the thematic Telegram channels, the Medvezhino forest park can be called the most mushroom-rich place in the capital. In the secluded corners of this well-maintained location, one can find aspen boletes, birch boletes, porcini, and honey mushrooms.
“A bouquet of aspen boletes. Medvezhino forest park, 10.09.26. A few more tiny ones are popping up nearby,” signed Minsk resident Tatiana under a photo with young red-capped boletes.
Mushroom luck smiled upon her more than once that day: afterward, the woman published a series of photos showing a sturdy porcini among the aspen boletes. The city resident published a photo of another porcini from Medvezhino on September 13.
The generous green zone in the Frunzenski district also yields other mushrooms.
“We decided to take a walk in Medvezhino with our daughter on Friday,” shared Minsk resident Polina. “In a couple of hours, we found many mushrooms: we came across ink caps, puffballs, old birch boletes, and aspen boletes. And towards the end of our walk, we stumbled upon a stump covered with stout honey mushrooms. Our daughter's joy knew no bounds!”
Mushrooms are also found by those relaxing in the green zones of Pervomaiski district — Chelyuskintsev Park and the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. In the first, many honey mushrooms were recently found, and in the second last weekend — a brown cap mushroom.
However, one can also collect mushroom harvests in the nearest suburbs, for example, at Minsk Sea — there, the chance of not leaving empty-handed is considerably higher.
