Lukashenka Called Not to Keep Reserves in Dollars

“Who needs the dollar today? No one needs it anymore,” he believes.

Given the current US policy, keeping dollars in reserve is dangerous; it's better to invest them now in specific projects. Aleksandr Lukashenka told journalists this, sharing details of a recent meeting with Russian businessman Vladimir Potanin, BelTA writes.

“The richest man in Russia. He is ready to invest. The only thing we theoretically discussed is that today Belarusians see something else: who needs the dollar today? No one needs it anymore,” the politician stated.

He cited Russia as an example, a nuclear state in which several hundred billion dollars of gold and foreign exchange reserves were blocked in the West. “One can imagine what will happen with… May the Arab Emirates, our friends, who have approximately a trillion, forgive me. What will they do with these dollars? Everyone sees the policy that the United States is pursuing in the financial sphere. It is dangerous to keep dollars in reserve,” said Aleksandr Lukashenka.
