Armenia is studying the possibility of diversifying gas supplies, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Thus, he answered a question about whether the republic is considering an alternative to Russian gas supplies in case of withdrawal from the EAEU, writes NewsArmenia.

“Gas is not cheap in Armenia. From the border to the consumer, compared to other countries, Armenia sees the largest price increase. <…> The company "Gazprom Armenia" receives large profits, and this is also a fact that we must acknowledge,” Pashinyan noted.

He noted that there is no area in which the authorities would not pursue diversification.

“If an opportunity arises to purchase gas from a second source or to purchase more gas from a second source, we will follow that path; if an opportunity arises to purchase it from a third source, we will follow that path; if an opportunity arises to purchase it from a fourth source, we will also follow that path,” Pashinyan explained.
