On the evening of September 11, a passenger train in France derailed after colliding with an unknown object. Police reported that a rail fragment was found on the railway tracks, making possible sabotage one of the main versions of the investigation.
The incident occurred near the city of Cleon in northern France. More than 180 passengers were on the train. As a result of the incident, 44 people were injured. One woman was hospitalized in serious condition, while the others sustained minor injuries.
The accident led to serious disruptions in train traffic on several routes. Problems arose, in particular, on the line between Rouen and Caen, as well as between Caen and Le Havre in both directions.
On the evening of September 11, trains arriving from Rouen and Le Havre were delayed at Paris's Saint-Lazare station. Delays reached up to three hours.
On the morning of September 12, traffic on the Paris — Rouen line resumed, but restrictions were still in effect on other sections of the railway network.
