Iskra cafe has launched a heartwarming initiative. Baristas have affixed special messages to drink cups: photos of pets desperately in need of a home.
The main idea is to introduce visitors to the shelter where dogs currently live, and perhaps help someone find that very friend, writes Onliner.by.
The mechanics are simple: each cup features a photo, the dog's name, and a short message. Visitors can then scan a QR code to go to the Home4dog shelter's account.
— I've been helping the shelter as a volunteer for about two years, — said Anastasia, the cafe manager. — When things settled down with the cafe, the idea came up to help animals in this way. We're not asking people to adopt dogs — primarily, we want to draw attention to them.
Because even a repost in an Instagram story already increases the likelihood that someone will notice a pet. I know that the shelter has already seen an increase in social media views: people follow the QR code, and the more they view the profile, the more often it's shown to other users.
But that's not all: a portion of the proceeds from drinks sold in these 'kind' cups will also be directed to help the animals.
According to Anastasia, the campaign will definitely continue until the end of September. The cafe can be found on the second floor of the 'Titan' shopping and entertainment center (Dziaržynskaha Ave., 104B).
