On the night of September 2, when Odesa celebrates its 232nd anniversary, the Russian army attacked the city and region. A residential high-rise building, a business center, educational institutions, and energy infrastructure were damaged. According to local authorities, eight people were injured, including one child.
Russian troops struck Odesa and the region throughout the night. Civilian and energy facilities were hit by the attacks.
In a 24-story residential building, apartments from the 17th to the 23rd floor were damaged. The blast wave also damaged nearby parked cars. Windows were blown out in neighboring buildings.
In another part of the city, the facade and glazing of a business center were damaged. A fire broke out in the office premises, and cars were damaged.
Destruction was also recorded on the territory of a private enterprise and in a country house. Transport was damaged, and a gas station was completely destroyed. Additionally, two educational institutions were affected.
The head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, reported eight injured, including one child.
Fires that broke out after the strikes were extinguished. Psychologists and utility services also worked on site.
On September 2, Odesa celebrates City Day — this year it turns 232 years old.
