Relics of Dmitry Donskoy wanted to be sent to the war in Ukraine
The relics of Prince Dmitry Donskoy, found this summer, may be sent to the combat zone in Ukraine. The Russian Orthodox Church has already called such a decision reasonable, writes "Novaya Gazeta. Europe".

Vakhtang Kipshidze, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate for Church Relations with Society and Media, stated that servicemen should be given the opportunity to venerate the prince's relics as soon as possible. According to him, sending them to the combat zone would be expedient.
The Russian Orthodox Church recently reported on the discovery of the remains of Dmitry Donskoy. They were found in July during restoration work in the Archangel Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. It is reported that the remains are almost completely preserved — only the left heel bone is missing.
The church stated that parts of the relics are planned to be transferred to various churches. The exact location of the main remains of Dmitry Donskoy has not yet been finally decided.
Kipshidze noted that believers, in any case, should have access to the relics in central churches. The question of their further placement and possible sending to the combat zone is still under consideration.
On August 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Archangel Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. He inspected the relics of Prince Dmitry Donskoy and took part in a service during which prayers were offered, including for the president and "victorious warriors."
Putin called the discovery of the relics "miraculous" and stated that, in his opinion, this event confirms the importance of Russia's historical heritage.
He also described the find as something amazing and unique, noting that it supposedly further reinforces important foundations of Russian history.
