Wedding balloon flew 900 km from Berlin to the border with Belarus

A small red balloon, launched at a wedding in Berlin, completed its journey of more than 900 kilometers to the east — in the Białowieża Forest, on Poland's border with Belarus. This was reported on Friday by the Polish forest services, AFP reports.
The balloon, caught on a tree branch, was spotted by a forester during a routine patrol. A small, carefully wrapped piece of paper was attached to the balloon's string.
"A small piece of paper, well-wrapped, was tied to the balloon's string," the Browsk Forest District wrote on its Facebook page, where they published a photo of the find.
The paper, written in German, said "Alles Gute zur Hochzeit" (Congratulations on your wedding), and also asked the person who finds the balloon to report its location. It turned out that the balloon was launched by guests at a wedding in the German capital.
"Gusts of wind carried it to the east. It flew almost 900 kilometers, crossed the border, and landed in the heart of our forest, safely settling on a branch," wrote the foresters, who sent the balloon to the indicated address.
