In Wrocław, a passenger attacked a 66-year-old taxi driver, a citizen of Belarus, during a ride. Hearing an "eastern accent", he started insulting the taxi driver and then hit him on the head with a glass bottle, Wrocław police report.
The consequences of the incident were recorded by a car video recorder from a car driving behind. The footage released by the police shows the young passenger running out of the taxi just as it is changing into the last right lane. The injured driver then exits, holding his chest and standing with difficulty, writes Most.
The taxi driver contacted the police. The police quickly found and detained the attacker. He turned out to be a 23-year-old man. The aggressor was charged with assault on national grounds. He faces up to five years in prison, but he will remain free under police supervision until the trial.
