Belarusian Iryna Khalip included in the register of Russian "foreign agents"
The Ministry of Justice of Russia has included the online publication "Novaya Gazeta" in the register of foreign agents. However, the editorial office was registered not in the category "Media-foreign agent", but as "another association of persons".

In such cases, the full name or names of the association's participants are separately indicated in the register. In the case of "Novaya Gazeta", 106 people, as well as JSC "Publishing House "Novaya Gazeta"", were included in the list.
Among the individuals mentioned in the list are Nobel laureate and co-founder of the publication Dmitry Muratov, political scientists Nina Khrushcheva and Vladimir Pastukhov, writer Alexander Genis, politician Lev Schlossberg, and others. Some of them had already been previously included in the register of foreign agents.

Also featured in the list is Belarusian journalist Iryna Khalip, who has been working for "Novaya Gazeta" as a correspondent for Belarus since the early 21st century. She is now a special correspondent for "Novaya Gazeta. Europe".
The mere fact of a person's inclusion in the list of participants of an association recognized as a foreign agent allegedly does not automatically grant them personal foreign agent status. However, according to Russian law, such individuals must also accompany materials related to the activities of this association with a special label.
