Hair transplantation started in the regional hospital for the first time. How much does it cost?

For the first time among regional medical institutions of the country, hair transplantation operations have begun in the Brest Regional Hospital. Specialists promise a survival rate of up to 95-98% for hair and medical supervision at all stages of recovery, writes "Zerkalo".

The Brest Regional Hospital has started performing hair transplantation operations. This information appeared on the website of the medical institution.

The procedure is performed using the FUE method. As stated on the medical institution's website, FUE, or follicular unit extraction, is a minimally invasive hair restoration technique. During it, the doctor individually extracts hair follicles (grafts) from the donor area (usually the back of the head or side parts) and transplants them into the bald area. The procedure is performed without incisions or sutures.

A survival rate of up to 95-98% is promised.

The operation is performed by transplant surgeon Vasily Yurkovsky, who underwent special training in Turkey.

In an interview with the TikTok channel "Glavny Obzorshchik", the doctor said that the procedure is performed under local anesthesia and is not painful.

"You lie there, and, one might say, enjoy the process," the surgeon joked.

You will have to lie for a long time: on average, the operation takes six to eight hours. During it, the doctor and patient take breaks to, for example, eat or go to the toilet.

"Each graft is sorted manually. If a person needs three thousand [of them] to be transplanted, you sort, take, and classify three thousand [one by one]. You make separate holes for each, you transplant each individually," Vasily Yurkovsky describes what is happening. "This cannot be fast and does not cost three rubles, as they say."

According to the doctor, on average about three thousand grafts are transplanted during the operation. The cost of working with one is two to three rubles.

As a result, on average, the operation will cost six to nine thousand rubles.

The doctor notes that those who inquired about the price list for the service in Turkey, Moscow, or private clinics understand: "This is the most comfortable price."

"We don't have any excessive surcharges. Often you go for a procedure, then you additionally [pay] for anesthesia, dressing materials, etc.," the doctor lists. "With us, a person comes, they specifically know what amount to pay."

Vasily Yurkovsky says that after the operation, the patient is immediately discharged home. At the same time, the doctor continues to communicate with the person throughout the entire recovery period.

"They come for check-ups. We arrange with them when they will show up. It's not like in Turkey, where you leave, they cross themselves on the road and 'go with God,' as they say," the doctor joked. "But here, everything is controlled. And most importantly, all this is done in operating rooms, by doctors. Because everything is strict and controlled here. And we have certain guarantees, unlike some, let's say."

The surgeon noted that, like any operation, hair transplantation requires preparation and time for it.

"Nevertheless, there are already enough interested parties," Vasily Yurkovsky stated. "People are signing up, people are ready to do it. Just the thought that you don't have to go anywhere, that you can do it within our native walls. They [patients] are all for it. Fast rehabilitation. The most difficult period is one to two weeks. And then a normal lifestyle without any strong restrictions."

In regional hospitals of other regions of the country, hair transplantation is not yet performed. At the same time, it is performed, for example, at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Medical Expertise and Rehabilitation. It is also listed among the services at the clinic of the Vitebsk Medical University. Belarusians often travel to Turkey for hair transplants.
