Belarusians Slammed the Star of "Univer" for His Behavior in Minsk — And He Probably Didn't Even Understand Why
Stanislav Yarushin from the series "Univer" often visits Minsk because he works as a mentor on the TV show "Factor.by". While traveling, the Russian doesn't forget to train, which recently led him to face backlash from Belarusians — and it's good if he avoided a fine.
Yarushin published on Threads a photo from his run in Minsk. He left the following caption with the photo:
“Minsk. Park. Sport. 3 km.”
The photo shows that Yarushin is running not on a pedestrian path, but on a bicycle path — although both are completely empty. Belarusians condemned such a violation of the rules. It's no surprise that Stanislav received a lot of dissatisfied comments.
Some of them, however, were restrained:
“Stanislav, people cycle there, run next to it. It's not customary here.”
“Here, people don't walk or run on bike paths.”
“If you stop at a dark intersection, always wait for the green light, even if there are no cars, it's not customary here.”
But many were outraged by Yarushin's run on the bike path:
“This isn't Moscow, get off the bike path.”
“Now he'd get a slap for running on the bike path.”
“He might as well run on tram tracks... Where do they even come from?”
Some Belarusians used Yarushin's post to express all their emotions regarding Russians who sometimes violate traffic rules in our country:
“I simply cannot understand why Russians are so determined to do things differently in Belarus than they should. This is our country, you are guests. I have no strength left!
We don't make noise, don't litter, don't drive on sidewalks, don't walk on bike paths, don't shout on phones in public places, and much more. Why is it so difficult to simply maintain the bounds of decency?”
It's not just about the commentators' outrage, because Yarushin also violated Belarusian traffic rules. According to paragraph 17.1 of the rules, pedestrians must move on sidewalks or pedestrian paths, and only if these are absent, then on a bicycle path.
Therefore, for such runs, one can receive a fine of 1 to 3 basic units — from 45 to 135 rubles.
