Russia Heavily Damaged Kherson TPP. The City May Be Without Light and Heat for a Long Time
During the night, Russian troops attacked the Kherson Thermal Power Plant with aerial bombs. As a result, the critical infrastructure facility sustained significant damage, reported Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

This is not the first attack on the TPP, but this time the destruction is particularly severe. According to Prokudin, it is no longer possible to count on the normal operation of the TPP and other critical infrastructure facilities this winter.
He warned that Kherson could be without electricity and heat not for hours or days, but for an extended period.
Authorities urged city residents, especially families with children and elderly people, to move to safer regions where they have relatives or acquaintances, if possible. The regional administration is ready to assist with evacuation, transport, resettlement, and social support.
At the same time, city authorities, utility services, energy companies, and the government are looking for alternative ways to provide Kherson with electricity and heat.
Throughout 2026, the Kherson TPP has already been targeted dozens of times by Russian strikes.
