Rumours spread about a shortage of donor blood in Minsk. Medics commented
Information appeared on social media about an alleged shortage of donor blood at the Minsk Scientific and Practical Centre for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology. The author of the publication posted a photo of a memo for donors and urged those willing to donate blood to contact this medical institution.

However, the centre itself stated that they do not have an urgent need for additional donors. According to Olga Levandovskaya, head of the Transfusiology Centre, the medical institution has the necessary non-reducible reserve of blood components, and the situation with donor blood remains stable and controlled.
Medics explained that the memo for donors is regularly issued to patients' relatives. It is purely for informational purposes and does not mean that there is a blood shortage at the centre.

The decision on whether to donate blood is made by each person independently.
