In the USA, a cat was born with a record number of toes on its paws
A Maine Coon cat from the American state of Wisconsin has set a world record for the number of toes on its paws. Erebus Anomaly was found to have 29 — 11 more than the usual number for a domestic cat, writes Upi.com.

The cat's owners, Kendra Vandenbloomer and Hunter Nat, suspected immediately after his birth that their pet might be a record-breaker. After counting the toes, this was confirmed, and Erebus received the title of Guinness World Records holder.
The unusual feature is related to polydactyly — a genetic mutation through which animals are born with extra toes. It is quite common in Maine Coons, but 29 toes is the largest number ever recorded in a cat.
The previous record was 28 toes and belonged to the Canadian cat Jake, who set it back in 2002. Earlier this year, a kitten from Michigan, USA, named Toby, repeated this result. Erebus, however, became the new sole record holder.
