A Belarusian went for a walk in the forest and met an "oversized grass snake" PHOTO FACT
During a walk in the forest in the Lahoysk district, a man encountered an unusually large grass snake. He shared this on Threads, as noted by the publication Blizko.by.

Fortunately, the snake turned out to be non-venomous — it was a common grass snake. However, the man was surprised by the reptile's size: it looked significantly longer and thicker than the grass snakes usually seen in photographs. Therefore, the Belarusian wondered if such sizes were normal for a grass snake.
In fact, a large size for this species is not unusual. Adult common grass snake females can grow to about 1.2—1.5 meters in length and have a quite massive body.
Although the grass snake is not venomous, it is still better not to approach it when encountered, and even more so not to try to pick it up. While there is no fatal danger from this, a grass snake is capable of spreading a viral disease. In case of a bite, it is recommended to wash the wound with soap and water and treat it with an antiseptic.
